The Wilson snaffle is traditionally a driving bit for horses, but is occasionally used on riding horses too. The wilson has four rings, two of which attach to the cheek pieces and the other two the reins. The action is similar to a scourier- a strong squeezing action to the horses face when the rein is applied. It has a traditional jointed mouthpiece that effects the horses bars and palate. This bit is only suitable for experienced and sympathetic riders due to the potential severity of its action.
